About this event
Written by Kirsten Childs | Inspired by Alexandre Dumas
November 12 - 22 | Williams Theatre
Who gets to tell the stories we inherit?
Swordplay collides with hip-hop. Verse and vernacular co-mingle. Courage, loyalty, intrigue, and honor are still the spine of the tale - but the sound, and the spirit are something audiences haven't seen before.
All for one, and one for all, but not quite the way you remember it.
In this bold and exhilarating adaptation, playwright Kirsten Childs brings Alexandre Dumas himself into the story, reimagining the classic adventure through the eyes of the man who created it – the Black son of a Black French Revolutionary War general.
This is not your standard Three Musketeers. It is raucous, theatrical, and unapologetically alive - a classic romantic adventure reclaimed as a joyful masterwork, and a reminder that the stories we think we know can still surprise us. Swordplay collides with hip-hop. Verse and vernacular co-mingle. Courage, loyalty, intrigue, and honor are still the spine of the tale - but the sound, and the spirit are something audiences haven't seen before.
Familiar heroes take on new life.
