About this event

FACT: Americans generate an estimated 25% more trash during the holiday season than usual, contributing to landfill pollution, methane emissions and environmental injustices.

Interested in reducing waste at family celebrations, community events, or congregational gatherings? Join us for a hands-on workshop featuring Kalamazoo Solid Waste Coordinator Chris Broadbent, Portage Purchasing Manager Justin Williams, and WMU master’s student Mitchell Luttermoser.

Learn practical ways to reduce single-use plastics and use local composting and recycling programs. Small changes can reduce our environmental footprint while helping build healthier, more equitable communities.

Be part of changing the culture—for people and the planet!

A simple vegetarian meal will be provided. RSVP required.
