EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The KCC Foundation is accepting online scholarship applications from new, returning, and transferring students for the 2026-27 academic year; all applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. March 2 (the process is free). Battle Creek Enquirer
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Battle Creek Enquirer asks locals to vote for Bronson as Athlete of the Week in a contest celebrating local sports talent. Votes are being accepted this week (check the paper for details). Battle Creek Enquirer
- ➤ On Sunday, Jan. 4, the Detroit Lions edged the Chicago Bears 19-16 after Jake Bates kicked a 42-yard field goal as time expired in Chicago. Jared Goff led five scoring drives to help the Lions overcome a 16-point deficit and break a three-game losing streak. FOX 17
- ➤ Battle Creek Enquirer hosted Athlete of the Week voting, letting local fans select top high school performers from Lakeview, Marshall, Coldwater and Harper Creek. Voters have until 5 p.m. Wednesday to choose standout nominees Major Baumann, Lincoln Fuller, Maddox McCarty and Mya Porter + cast their vote. Battle Creek Enquirer
