ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Four horses were rescued from the frozen pond at Turtle Creek Golf Course Sunday morning after escaping their enclosure and getting trapped in shallow water, with ALURT and fire crews arriving at 8:40 a.m. to pull them to safety; all horses walked away and are receiving care.  FOX 17

CULTURE NEWS

  • Residents are invited to join Festivus 2026's Head Over Heels cardboard sled race at Leila Arboretum (928 W. Michigan Ave.) on Feb. 14; registration begins at noon and races start at 1 p.m.  Battle Creek Enquirer
