- ➤ The W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary (12685 East C Ave) is hosting a guided bird ID walk on Feb. 14 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. that meets at its Resource Center before heading to Wintergreen Lake, and it offers free admission on Feb. 15 for the Great Backyard Bird Count. Battle Creek Enquirer

- ➤ Cracker Barrel updated its travel rules by directing employees to pay for their own alcohol while dining mainly at its locations (a cost-cutting measure amid a revenue drop) and postponing trips further into 2026 as part of guidelines in place since 2024. Battle Creek Enquirer

- ➤ Battle Creek recorded a high of 59° on Jan. 9 – it hit freezing at 32° on Jan. 17 and fell to -19° on Jan. 24 during a prolonged cold snap. Weather officials expect temperatures to warm soon. Battle Creek Enquirer
