  • Opponents of Ford's BlueOval Battery Plant plan to appeal a Court of Appeals decision to the Michigan Supreme Court as part of their challenge to ongoing construction — Marshall Mayor Scott Wolfersberger said previous rulings brought relief while the plant is expected to open later this year.  102.7 WFAT
  • Battle Creek water crews repaired a water main break on John R Street on Tuesday, March 3, which closed the street between Capital Avenue SW and Grand Boulevard and shut off water for residents at 2-15 John R Street + 140 Grand Boulevard until 5 p.m.  Battle Creek Enquirer

  • St. Philip advanced to the regional final after defeating Lawrence 56-45 Tuesday at Marcellus High School. They will face Colon at 7 p.m. Thursday, while Marshall ended its season with a 54-40 loss to Chelsea at Fowlerville.  Battle Creek Enquirer
  • Robbie Hattan stepped down as head football coach at Pennfield effective March 13 to be with his family and begin a new role as Director of Student Services and Facilities at Colon Community Schools starting March 16 — he still has not decided about coaching basketball at Pennfield.  Battle Creek Enquirer
