GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The M-89 bridge will close on March 9 for a major rebuild that will last until Oct. 9, with detours on I-194 + Michigan Avenue. The $7.6 million project includes rebuilding the bridge and related improvements while supporting 64 jobs. Battle Creek Enquirer
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Marshall's Matthew Waito was named Bronson Battle Creek Athlete of the Week after fans gave him 67% of the vote for his role in a 59-56 district championship win over Pennfield. He scored 11 points and had eight assists to help secure the title. Battle Creek Enquirer
- ➤ The Colon boys basketball team won its first regional title after beating St. Philip 49-40 on Thursday, and they will face Concord in the state quarterfinals at Portage Northern High School on Tuesday. Battle Creek Enquirer
