EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ TSAP will host a free event featuring U-M volleyball star Allison Jacobs for local 7th–12th grade students at the Multiple Sports Complex at the Battle Creek Family YMCA on Friday at 4:30 p.m.—students must preregister at their school offices and the event will include a talk, Q&A session, and open gym period. Jacobs, a former team captain, will share her journey as a college athlete to inspire local youth. Battle Creek Enquirer
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Michigan officials will hold a statewide tornado drill on March 19 at 1 p.m. as part of Severe Weather Awareness Week+residents are urged to follow safety tips like seeking shelter during severe weather. Battle Creek Enquirer
- ➤ City contractors will resume replacing lead service lines in Battle Creek next week. Temporary road closures will occur on McKinley Avenue North on March 17 and Bidwell Street West on March 18—water shutoffs will affect only the residences undergoing the work. City of Battle Creek
