Good morning, Battle Creek.
🚨 Crime

Air quality is getting better in West Michigan on Monday, March 17, after dusty skies caused Grand Rapids to have the worst air quality on Saturday—strong winds from the Plains and heavy rain cleared the air.
Inhaling fresh air has become easier as conditions improve.
🏛️ Government
On March 11, Lt. Gov. Gilchrist announced his run for governor at an event in Detroit.
He is one of six declared candidates in the 2026 race — Michigan will choose a new governor on January 1, 2027 when Gov. Gretchen Whitmer completes her term.
Michigan residents must file their 2024 federal income taxes by April 15, 2025 and may file an extension until October 15 if more time is needed—using e-file and direct deposit is the fastest way to get refunds.
