  • The WMU Homer Stryker School of Medicine will welcome 75 resident physicians and six fellows this summer in Kalamazoo and Battle Creek, including four in a state program that repays loans for service in underserved areas (with 842 more applicants than last year).  102.7 WFAT
  • On March 19, Kellogg Community College's marketing team earned seven national Paragon Awards for creative projects ranging from youth programming to logo design at the NCMPR National Conference in Washington, D.C.   • Calhoun County's Board of Commissioners approved a $200K rapid-response opioid fund to help local groups quickly secure money for prevention, treatment and recovery efforts—eligible local, tribal and nonprofit organizations may apply on a rolling basis.  Battle Creek Enquirer
  • Schylling warns local families against microwaving NeeDoh toys after social media hacks reportedly led to explosions and burns — experts stress the toys are meant only for safe play.  Battle Creek Enquirer

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • With winter fading away, local drivers are urged to wash off road salt to prevent rust and corrosion on car parts. AAA advises washing vehicles when temperatures are above freezing (ideally above 40) to avoid costly repairs.  Battle Creek Enquirer
