A 79-year-old driver was seriously injured when his car hit a disabled semi-truck blocking both lanes of 11 Mile Road in Burlington Township at 5:39 a.m. Tuesday (emergency crews rescued him for treatment while investigators looked into the crash).

Gas prices in the Midwest region rose slightly last week—averaging $3.10 per gallon for regular fuel on Monday up from $3.07.

They are about 4.3% lower than the national average at $3.24 and have increased 20 cents since last month—after being 11% lower a year ago at $2.80.

Grand Valley State University said two international students had their visas revoked after staff reviewed Department of Homeland Security records following media reports of similar actions at other schools—officials have not been contacted by DHS about the revocations.

Registration for summer classes at Kellogg Community College is now open—summer classes begin May 19 and run through Aug.
