- ➤ Scientists say invasive Asian needle ants — known for painful stings — have been found in Ohio and Wisconsin but not yet in Michigan. The insects nest in mulch and soil and may disrupt local ecosystems if they spread closer. Battle Creek Enquirer
- ➤ Beginning April 20, a helicopter carrying a large hexagon-shaped hoop will conduct a three-month airborne geophysical survey over Southwest Michigan to help map underground water resources (aquifers) as officials address groundwater challenges. The aircraft will follow set flight paths and maintain safe distances from people and structures. FOX 17
