- ➤ Michigan's trout season on inland waters opened on April 26 and the Lower Peninsula walleye and northern pike season began then. Anyone 17 or older must have a fishing license valid through March 31, which costs $26 for residents and $76 for nonresidents—details are outlined in the state regulations. Battle Creek Enquirer
- ➤ The City of Battle Creek will begin annual road resurfacing work on Monday, April 28, affecting Michigan Avenue W — which will face a full closure during milling and paving — as well as Porter Street and Sonoma Road with lane shifts and pedestrian detours during ramp replacements and ADA upgrades.
