- ➤ City crews begin asphalt repair work along Goodale Avenue today—closing the road from Redner/Roosevelt to North Avenue; repairs will continue with closures from Wilds to Redner/Roosevelt tomorrow and from Hillsdale to Wilds on May 1, with work each day from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. City of Battle Creek
- ➤ Michigan and 18 other states sued the U.S. Department of Education on Friday after the agency threatened to cut Title I funds from schools that continue their DEI programs—officials say this move places an unfair burden on education agencies already in compliance with Title VI.
