- ➤ The Franke Center for the Arts will host the Tom Franke Gala on May 30, featuring a catered dinner starting at 5:30 p.m. & live music with a silent auction and a Carole King tribute beginning at 8 p.m. in the Downstage Club. Battle Creek Enquirer

- ➤ A state report from the DNR shows Michigan’s forests faced invasive species, climate change, and damage from a March ice storm in 2025. Forest management will adjust harvest plans and focus on restoration projects (including an Assisted Tree Migration effort with Michigan State University). Michigan Public Radio

- ➤ Battle Creek residents will see a citywide storm debris cleanup starting the week of May 11 after an April 27 storm downed trees and limbs; crews will make one pass per neighborhood and collect only storm-related items placed at the curb. Battle Creek Enquirer
