  • Calhoun County deputies are searching for 15-year-old Glenn Lee Brown, who was last seen May 7 leaving Pennfield High School to walk into wooded areas and is described as a white male—4 feet 2 inches tall, 90 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes.  102.7 WFAT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Battle Creek residents can join a free Corrections Connect Training Program at Kellogg Community College's Regional Manufacturing Technology Center at 405 Hill Brady Road starting Monday, May 26; classes run from 1 to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays until July 24. The 10-seat program prepares eligible participants for employment with the Michigan Department of Corrections by offering technical training, career coaching, and workplace essential courses.  Battle Creek Enquirer

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • EPA awarded a $1.5 million grant to Calhoun County’s Land Bank Authority for environmental assessments and planning—supporting projects in Battle Creek, Albion and other county areas. The grant has been active since October 2024 and will continue until September while property owners may apply for inclusion in its activities.  102.7 WFAT
