- ➤ The Vibe @ 5 concert series will return downtown this summer with free Friday shows at Friendship Park beginning July 10 at 5 p.m. and will move indoors to Handmap Brewery – 15 Carlyle St. in case of rain. Battle Creek Enquirer
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ After Monday's severe storms knocked out power for 88,000 customers in the Lower Peninsula, crews restored electricity for 62,000 and plan to restore service for the remaining 25,000 later today (more storms could affect progress). Michigan Public Radio
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ ITC announced that helicopters flying low will inspect high voltage transmission lines and equipment statewide from May 27 through June 30, weather permitting. The inspections follow required standards and aim to spot equipment wear + vegetation hazards. Battle Creek Enquirer
- ➤ Memorial Day is on Monday, May 25 and schools, banks and government offices are closed to honor fallen service members. Parades and ceremonies are scheduled in Michigan starting at 9 a.m. to mark the unofficial start of summer. Battle Creek Enquirer
