- ➤ Battle Creek is expanding cleanup assistance after recent storms to keep roads safe and accessible. As of May 20, several roads remain closed—crews will continue street clearing the week of May 27 and begin citywide storm debris cleanup the week of June 2 with residents instructed to place tree and brush debris at the road edge or curb lawn for pickup. - ➤ The Calhoun County Prosecutor’s Office is displaying artwork created by sexual assault survivors in its Victims’ Unit to honor survivors and support advocacy through Bronson Sexual Assault Services. The artwork—titled Survivor Ribbons and Handprints—is designed to remind the community of available aid for youth and caregivers in child abuse cases. 102.7 WFAT

- ➤ Health officials say cucumbers grown by Bedner Growers Inc. and distributed by Fresh Start Produce Inc. from April 29 to May 19 were linked to a salmonella outbreak that sickened 26 people—nine hospitalized—in 15 states including Michigan. Officials advise anyone who ate the cucumbers and experiences symptoms to promptly contact a health care provider. Battle Creek Enquirer
