- ➤ The Calhoun County Prosecutor’s Office is now displaying artwork made by sexual assault survivors in its Victims’ Unit to raise awareness of abuse—donated by Bronson Sexual Assault Services and community partners to support youth and caregivers. - ➤ The City of Battle Creek — in partnership with local organizations — is asking residents to complete a brief survey by noon on May 29 to help improve lead testing and protect children from exposure risks. - ➤ Today, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services warned that tick borne illnesses are rising—Lyme disease cases have increased 168% in five years and anaplasmosis cases have nearly grown fivefold, so residents should protect themselves by wearing long sleeves, using EPA approved bug spray, and checking for ticks after outdoor time.
