- ➤ Battle Creek Chorus earned second place and most improved honors at Region 17 competition in Erie, Pennsylvania from May 14-16. The barbershop group rehearses Mondays at Life in Christ Ministries and will begin its summer season on June 8. Battle Creek Enquirer
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Michigan Medicine reached an agreement that keeps Michigan Medicine in network for BCBSM members. The deal was finalized ahead of the June 30 (deadline) after stalled talks risked forcing 250,000 patients to look for other care. Michigan Public Radio
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Jackson Dzwik, St. Philip’s all-time leading scorer, signed on May 27 to play men’s basketball for Roosevelt University in Chicago after a ceremony at his high school. He averaged 23.3 points per game and calls joining college ball a dream come true that marks a step in his athletic career. Battle Creek Enquirer
- ➤ Three Michigan golfers earned sponsor exemptions (Chaille Payne, Kamryn Shannon and Jocelyn Bruch) for the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship in Marshall, set for June 12 to 14 at The Medalist Golf Club.
