- ➤ A 24-year-old woman was arrested on gun-related charges after a fight outside a home on the 200 block of Goguac Street West on June 12th just before 3:30 p.m.—she fired rounds at a car leaving the scene and no one was injured. 102.7 WFAT
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Michigan Department of Natural Resources announced fifteen grants totaling more than $1 million to fund tree canopy projects across the state, with six grants supporting initiatives in West Michigan. Battle Creek will receive $38,850 for tree planting and maintenance—while Crystal Township, Lakeview, the Grand Valley Metro Council, Ionia, and the Muskegon Conservation District also receive funds for inventories, workshops, orchards and food forests. - ➤ Smoke from Canadian wildfires is expected to reduce air quality in Michigan all summer, so residents are urged to check their local conditions before outdoor activities.
