- ➤ Byron Township is building a new fire station in Cutlerville—located behind McDonald's near M6 and 131—to improve emergency response after call volumes grew from about 700 to nearly 1700 per year. The station will begin operations on September 22 and the fire department will hire six new firefighters to cover 36 square miles. FOX 17
- ➤ The Michigan Senate passed bipartisan legislation Tuesday that increases penalties for drivers who commit moving violations against pedestrians, bicyclists, and wheelchair users—updating the state's move over law before the bills head to the House for deliberation. 102.7 WFAT
