- ➤ Cow Tail is a two-month-old female puppy available for adoption through the Humane Society of West Michigan. The Society is running its Empty the Shelters campaign from July 8-12 — adoption fees are lowered to $70 for dogs six months and older and $25 for cats and small animals while dog obedience classes are open. - ➤ Ford said Tuesday its Marshall EV battery plant — 60% complete and set to employ 1,700 workers — will qualify for production tax credits after tax rules were revised, and it will start making batteries in 2026 using Chinese technology. Battle Creek Enquirer

- ➤ City contractor crews begin local rehabilitation work today on several roads by milling and paving surfaces, upgrading sidewalk ramps and pavement markings—improvements will also be made at the wastewater plant and airport access road as crews work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Oct. 31. - ➤ Cherry season at Grange Fruit Farm is winding down as families picked cherries Tuesday morning despite concerns from an earlier hailstorm—visitors enjoy the experience and the fresh fruit. The farm will offer raspberries this weekend, blueberries soon and peaches by the end of July to expand pick-your-own opportunities. FOX 17

- ➤ The Kalamazoo Growlers signed former MLB All-Star Brandon Inge to a one-day contract to coach on Thursday, July 10 at Homer Stryker Field when they face the Battle Creek Battle Jacks.
