- ➤ Battle Creek Fire Department crews arrived just after 5 p.m. on Friday at a home on Orchard Avenue near Sherman Road to extinguish a kitchen fire, evacuate all residents safely, and rescue a mixed-breed golden Labrador — which was revived after 15 minutes of resuscitation — while the cause remains under investigation.
