- ➤ Luke Terpstra, a 31-year-old man from Grant, Michigan, was sentenced on July 31 to three years in federal prison for building homemade explosive devices meant to attack The Satanic Temple in Salem—he said he disposed of the devices after realizing they could harm innocent people and must also pay a fine and restitution while serving supervised release. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Marshall Township Fire Department moved into its new station at 13550 15 Mile Road—acquired by the board from MAEDA—to boost equipment space, training capacity, and response times using state funds rather than local tax dollars. The facility, located within two miles of most residents, also supports nearby road and hydrant improvements linked to Ford’s project. Battle Creek Enquirer
