ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A 60-year-old man from Clarendon Township died when his motorcycle crashed in Eckford Township Saturday afternoon—deputies arrived at 3:14 p.m. and first responders could not revive him as investigators seek tips from witnesses. FOX 17
- ➤ An Amtrak train near Battle Creek had a mechanical problem at 7:14 p.m. Friday — leaving passengers stuck until buses from 11 Mile Road and E Drive North picked them up. Many passengers became very upset and had to jump from the train as emergency crews helped them off after midnight. WOOD TV

- ➤ Kellogg Community College earned national praise for its affordability and career readiness when a WalletHub report ranked it second in Michigan and 16th nationwide as of Aug. 12—registration for the fall semester is open with classes beginning Aug. 25. Battle Creek Enquirer
