- ➤ Plainfield Charter Twp announced that construction cones were removed from Plainfield Ave between Fuller Ave and Airway St. at 5:00 p.m. Friday, Aug 22—drivers will see lane closures return after Labor Day when MDOT begins repaving work. FOX 17
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Calhoun County homes listed for sale in July had a median price of $237,225—down 5.1% from June and 6.4% lower than last July. New listings rose by 32% to about 180 homes, and properties stayed on the market for a median of 36 days compared to the 58-day national average. Battle Creek Enquirer
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Lakeview's Jay Hamric became the top singles player and led his team to win the All-City Boys Tennis Tournament at Lakeview High School on Aug. 23. The team earned its 10th consecutive city title — scoring 29 points as Harper Creek finished second. Battle Creek Enquirer
- ➤ The Battle Creek Enquirer has opened an online poll inviting readers to choose the top Preseason Boys Tennis Player of the Year among 13 local high school athletes—votes are accepted until noon on Aug 27.
