About 13.4 million birds are expected to fly over Michigan tonight as part of fall migration, and officials advise residents to turn off unnecessary lights to help the birds navigate safely.
The migration is led by Purdue University's AeroEco Lab during the peak season from mid-September to mid-October.
🏥 Health
Residents can donate blood at Battle Creek Fire Station 1 — 195 E.
Michigan Ave from noon to 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 15; appointments are encouraged while walk-ins are also accepted to help support patients in need.

Battle Creek Central will wear special jerseys with red, white & blue stripes at its Friday football game in Mattawan to honor the 25th anniversary of September 11.
Local police and firefighters join the team to teach the kids history and honor the first responders.
