- ➤ Consumers Energy announced Tuesday that it will sell its 13 hydroelectric dams in Michigan to Confluence Hydro under a 30-year power supply deal pending state and federal approval—community meetings about the sale are set for this fall and current hydro plant employees will be offered new jobs. The deal will allow the utility to focus on improving its main electricity and natural gas services. FOX 17
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On Monday around 2:50 p.m.—shots were fired near the Battle Creek Central stadium when an argument between people in a car and on foot occurred at the Champion Street and United Way intersection, and police said a bystander got minor injuries, was treated and released as several schools were locked down. - ➤ The VA Medical Center in Battle Creek will receive renovations including updated restrooms, reception, audiology, radiology and CT rooms as part of a funding restructure by the Department of Veterans Affairs—these improvements aim to better serve Veterans with increased spending for fiscal year 2025. 102.7 WFAT
