- ➤ The free Tekonsha Senior Health & Safety Fair will be held at Tekonsha Fire Station, 166 Spires Parkway, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 9 for older adults and caregivers to get health screenings, food, and free transportation in Calhoun County—local businesses will also offer extra support. - ➤ Calhoun County Administration honored Luann Sommers and Marie Ames with the Joanne Konkle Senior Services Achievement Awards for their work supporting older adults. Sommers has led programs at the Albion Forks Senior Center since 2016—Ames organized weekly social gatherings in Lee Township and volunteered with local groups. Battle Creek Enquirer
- ➤ The Calhoun County Youth Center completed a $13M renovation that nearly doubled its size from 15,760 to almost 30,000 square feet. - ➤ Battle Creek readers can vote for the Bronson Battle Creek Athlete of the Week for boys sports based on performances from Sept. 22 to 27 from candidates including Elijah Bowron (Climax-Scotts Football), Dylan Eversole (Harper Creek Football), Mubarrack Jubril (Battle Creek Central Football) and Abdulhamid Munassar (Coldwater Soccer).
