  • Governor Whitmer said state government will remain open tonight even if a budget deal is not finalized, and state employees have been told to report for work tomorrow. Lawmakers plan to introduce a stopgap measure—possibly an executive order—to allow interim spending until a final budget is agreed.  Michigan Public Radio

HEALTH NEWS

  • Calhoun County Public Health Department confirmed Tuesday that a bat tested positive for rabies, marking the first case this year. Officials said bat activity rises in fall and winter—contact health services if exposure is suspected.  WOOD TV

  • Harper Creek girls golf team clinched its second straight Interstate 8 Conference title led by underclassmen including sophomore Haley Willi and freshman Ella Bushman, even after losing key players to graduation.
