- ➤ Three Michigan auto supplier plants are closing amid lower electric vehicle demand and Ford ending production of two SUV models; Dana Thermal Products in Auburn Hills laid off 200 workers on Oct 9 while International Automotive Components Group will cut 178 jobs in Mendon and 68 in Alma on Dec 8, costing nearly 450 jobs. The closures reflect shifts in Ford’s production and broader changes in the auto industry. Battle Creek Enquirer

- ➤ Battle Creek residents with city water are asked to check the type of pipe entering their homes so city staff can prioritize lead pipe replacements and meet state and federal rules. - ➤ During Michigan Water and Wastewater Professionals Week from December 9th through 15th, 2024, electrical apprentice Jack Day Jr. updated and maintained the City of Battle Creek’s wastewater treatment plant—working with journeymen to install bypass floats at lift stations. - ➤ Harper Creek’s Antoine Westry and Julia Faber were named Battle Creek Athletes of the Week by Bronson Battle Creek Hospital for Oct. 13 to Oct. 18 — Westry recorded a key touchdown and 10 tackles in football while Faber helped her team secure its first I-8 Conference championship in cross country.
