- ➤ The Franke Center for the Arts announced that nationally known comedians Yassir Lester and Henrik Blix will perform on Nov. 22 at 8 p.m. at its mainstage in Marshall—tickets are available at the box office or online. Battle Creek Enquirer
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Battle Creek Public Schools reduced chronic absenteeism from 57.8% in 2021 to 47% by rewarding students with ROAR bucks that they can use at school stores. The district will continue working with local groups—such as Helping You on Your Way—to improve attendance and support learning. WOOD TV
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Battle Creek high school football playoffs are in Week 2. On Friday at 7 p.m., Bronson (8-2) faces Hanover-Horton (8-2) while Climax-Scotts (7-2) meets Martin (10-0) with the winner advancing to state semifinals and Lawton will play Schoolcraft in a separate regional game. Battle Creek Enquirer
- ➤ Lakeview beat Sturgis 3-0 in a Division 1 district semifinal on November 5 at Portage Central and will face Portage Central in a district final Friday at 5 p.m.—Harper Creek won a 3-2 Division 2 semifinal over Vicksburg and will play Three Rivers for the championship Saturday at 10 a.m. Battle Creek Enquirer
