  • Battle Creek Pride will host a Holiday Dinner at Christ United Methodist Church, 65 Bedford Road N from 6—8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28 and seeks donations and volunteers to help feed 150 people—offering a craft table and free photos with Santa.  Battle Creek Enquirer
  • Battle Creek Community Foundation selected native Diop Harris II as the 2025-26 Peter J. Christ Fellow to build future local leadership—he began the fellowship last month through the Leadership Battle Creek program. CULTURE NEWS

  • The Cereal City Concert Band will perform a holiday show at 3 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Pennfield Performing Arts Center in Battle Creek — the performance will include festive favorites, holiday classics like Greensleeves, C’est Noël and Sleigh Ride, raffles, and a Toys for Tots drive; tickets cost $10 for adults, $5 for students, seniors and veterans, and are free for children 5 and under.  Battle Creek Enquirer

SPORTS NEWS

  • Battle Creek high school teams are competing in Round 2 of the state football playoffs today, with Climax-Scotts and Bronson playing in key games. The Battle Creek Enquirer is providing live updates—reporter Bill Broderick offers real-time score updates via social media.  Battle Creek Enquirer
  • Detroit's 97.1 The Ticket became the flagship of a new statewide sports radio network after Audacy announced on Nov. 6 that the station will soon air in five metro areas — including Battle Creek—with live sports events and talk shows. The broadcasts will begin on Dec. 1 in markets such as Grand Rapids, Lansing, Kalamazoo, and Roscommon.  Battle Creek Enquirer
  • Michigan Public sports commentator John U. Bacon discussed the Pistons’ and Red Wings’ strong season starts and compared the challenges of the Michigan Wolverines with the struggles of the Michigan State Spartans during his interview with Morning Edition. He said the Pistons need an extra trade to improve and noted that Michigan State coach Jonathan Smith is under pressure as the season continues — insights that affect the local view of state sports.  Michigan Public Radio
