- ➤ Kellogg Community Credit Union collected over 385 coats and 53 cold-weather items during its annual coat drive in September and October to help local families stay warm. The donations were given to local charities and nonprofit partners and ranged in size from infant to adult. Battle Creek Enquirer
- ➤ The W.K. Kellogg Manor House in Hickory Corners will host three holiday events in December—Mrs. Claus Tea on Dec. 7, Holiday Spice Tea on Dec. 9, and the Comfort and Joy Dinner on Dec. 11—with tours and a holiday market featured; fees vary for members and non-members and reservations are required. - ➤ The Battle Creek Fire Department is accepting new, unwrapped toy donations for The Salvation Army until December 15 at several local stations — while the Battle Creek Police Department is partnering with the U.S. Marines and Target to host the annual 'Stuff the Truck' event on December 3 from 5–7 p.m. to collect toys, games, and monetary donations for Toys for Tots. 102.7 WFAT
- ➤ Holiday events are returning to Calhoun County with a mix of parades, light shows & concerts planned for the season. In Battle Creek today the Christmas parade starts at 5:30 p.m. near Washington Avenue and Champion Street, while other family-friendly events are scheduled in Marshall and at local venues through December. - ➤ Michigan State Police Marshall Post — hosting its 17th annual Stuff a Blue Goose Christmas drive — will collect non-perishable food items and new toys on Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Walmart stores in Battle Creek, Coldwater, Three Rivers and Sturgis so that The Salvation Army can distribute them to families in Calhoun, Branch and St. Joseph counties. - ➤ FireKeepers Casino Hotel will host holiday events in December, including daily online giveaways from Dec. 1–12 and prize drawings on Dec. 26, 27, 29, and 30. Live music will play on Dec. 9 while the New Year’s Eve party starting at 9 p.m. will feature free coffee and donuts in the morning, live DJs, and a midnight balloon drop—tickets cost $65 until Dec. 26 then $75. - ➤ Malls across Michigan have set special hours for Thanksgiving and Black Friday. In Battle Creek, Lakeview Square Mall will open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Black Friday—while many centers vary their schedules, with some remaining closed on Thanksgiving. Battle Creek Enquirer

- ➤ The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund announced that The Wall That Heals—a three-quarter scale replica of the memorial that honors over three million American troops—will be in Battle Creek from August 20th to 23rd; the traveling exhibit also features a mobile Education Center and displays the names of 58,281 service members killed in Vietnam while marking its only west Michigan stop. This future event highlights a national journey that began in Hawaii and continues across several communities. 102.7 WFAT
