➤ A Grand Valley State University researcher (Brian Long) said West Michigan's key industries have been softening with companies cutting back through attrition, and he warned this trend may carry into 2026. ➤ Michigan workers will see their minimum wage rise to $13.73 when the rate takes effect Jan. 1, 2026 (under the Improved Workforce Opportunity Wage Act) after a 2024 court ruling; employers will update labor law posters while unemployment benefits increase to $530 weekly. 102.7 WFAT
