The Vibe @ 5 concert series will return downtown this summer with free Friday shows at Friendship Park beginning July 10 at 5 p.m. and will move indoors to Handmap Brewery – 15 Carlyle St. in case of rain.

After Monday's severe storms knocked out power for 88,000 customers in the Lower Peninsula, crews restored electricity for 62,000 and plan to restore service for the remaining 25,000 later today (more storms could affect progress).

ITC announced that helicopters flying low will inspect high voltage transmission lines and equipment statewide from May 27 through June 30, weather permitting.

The inspections follow required standards and aim to spot equipment wear + vegetation hazards.
